Check out the world’s first 3D textured leather upholstery in the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur

The Internet is awash with teaser images of the 2020 Bentley Flying Spur. Bentley is reticent on the final production specs of its new car, but the British carmaker gave us a sneak peek on what to expect from the all-new Flying Spur.

The new Flying Spur is the world’s first production car to come with three-dimensional, textured leather upholstery. And it looks amazing!

This new material is developed by the brilliant craftsmen and women in Crewe, England. Bentley claims the new leather material is just one of the many new features and advanced technology in the third-generation Flying Spur.

Bentley motorcars are legendary for blending ultimate luxury and exhilarating performance. Where a typical Rolls-Royce wafts over the road, a Bentley is tighter and offers more driving feel. The same principle holds true in the new Flying Spur. Bentley claims the upcoming Flying Spur is the evolution of a sports sedan and luxury limousine. It promises to set new standards of luxury and driving pleasure.

In fact, Bentley says the new Flying Spur is created to become the world’s best luxury grand touring sedan. The outgoing model has the interior appointments of a Gulfstream jet, but the passé safety features and infotainment system leaves nothing to be desired. Expect all of this to change in the new car.

The outgoing Flying Spur is still a desirable luxury GT car. It comes with a standard V8 and optional W12 motor producing 500 and 616-horsepower, respectively. The V8 S is a sportier model with a 521-horsepower version of the turbocharged V8. In the meantime, the W12 S squeezes 626-horsepower and 605 pound-feet of torque from the 6.0-liter W12 motor. This also raises the top speed to 202 mph. We’re expecting the new Flying Spur to have the same V8 and W12 motors along with slightly more horsepower and torque.

We’re also looking forward to a lighter and more agile GT luxury car. Bentley has done a magnificent job in the handling department by giving the previous-generation Flying Spur a capable air suspension system. But throwing the barge around tight corners is not for the faint of heart.

It’s not short on luxury items, either. The cabin is swathed in genuine cowhide, wood, metal, and carbon fiber. The front and rear seats have cooling, heating, and massaging functions. The rear passengers can access the infotainment and vehicle settings using a pair of Android-based tablet computers. It has everything you want including a fridge to chill your champagne.

But what the old Flying Spur didn’t have is a 3D-textured leather interior. The new car is also blessed with a new Bentley hood ornament that looks remarkably similar to the Spirit of Ecstasy in a Rolls-Royce. We can’t wait to see what other unique luxury and performance features Bentley has in store for potential buyers of the next-generation Flying Spur.

The 2020 Bentley Flying Spur commemorates the 100th year anniversary of Bentley Motors. The new car is based on the Porsche Panamera and promises to deliver the most luxurious grand touring experience on the road.
