Swiss horologer Zenith is known for the luxury watches that they make, and the novel Defy El Primero 21 made its mark with the being a timepiece that ticks with a hundredth’s of a second. Of course it was an in-house movement that did the job, and the innovative design of the calibre carries on the legacy of the El Primero of 1969.
Today we look at the jewelry version of this iconic modern chronograph. The DEFY El Primero 21 High Jewelry is a timepiece that showcases a bezel with baguette cut diamonds. The case is crafted in rose gold and is entirely set with brilliant cut white diamonds. The DEFY El Primero 21 High Jewelry Rainbow on the other hand is very festive with the bezel getting the vibrant rainbow look.
How to Make It Blingy
There are 44 baguette-cut sapphires that have been painstakingly shortlisted and arranged in a progressive color scheme. The colors span the entire visible light spectrum and stand out thanks to the rose gold case. On the case, Zenith has employed a technique called snow setting, to showcase the white diamonds of varying sizes in a random pattern.
Maintaining the rainbow effect on the open dial, the hour markers are seen set with sapphires that match the bezel. Both the watches have their distinct personality and yet compliment the overall vibe of the collection.
Classic Gets Bejeweled
The Zenith Defy High Jewelry Series also belongs to the DEFY Classic, and its two iterations. First is the DEFY Classic High Jewelry, which is set in a titanium case. The brilliant cut-diamonds and baguette diamonds on the bezel look classy and compliment the open dial and movement. The signature Zenith blue touches are a part of its persona, and can be seen on the dial and the rubber and alligator leather strap.
The DEFY Classic High Jewelry Rainbow features 48 unique baguette cut sapphires on the bezel. Once again color graduations are kept in mind while aligning the stones, so that they look seamless. The brilliant white diamonds on the titanium case perfectly compliment the festive vibe of this timepiece.
The DEFY El Primero are powered by the El Primero 9004 Automatic movement. The Zenith DEFY Classic High Jewelry models host 41mm titanium cases. The watches will be available at Harrods in October 2019.
