adidas Stan Smith gears up for the winters with Gore-Tex Infinium Thermium

We have to make do without any more puns on ‘Winter is Coming’, and get on with life perceived as a ‘sheet of driven snow’. In between all the poetic banter, consider these pair of adidas Stan Smith Gore-Tex Infinium Thermium, that are coming to warm your ‘soles’ this winter.

For those who have forgotten, adidas Stan Smith are tennis shoes commemorating the famed American tennis player. The characteristics of this series is a simple design teamed with white leather upper and laces, sans the three stripes. Replacing the stripes are three rows of perforations or punched ventilation holes. On rare occasions you will find a sketched picture of Stan Smith, but overall the adidas branding is kept to a minimum.

Warming Your Soles This Winter

Teaming up with Gore-Tex for this pair of winter shoes, adidas is capitalizing on the Gore-Tex technology that ensures your shoes remain dry thanks to the waterproof barrier that blocks water from passing through.

For this pair of shoes, Gore-Tex has zeroed in on the latest innovation – Infinium Thermium, which is a super-thin membrane. This membrane has been integrated into the toebox giving the essential insulation where it’s needed most. Placement is the key, because this ensures that the rest of the foot is able to breathe.

The Three Stripes Brand

Fall-Winter 2019 sees adidas Originals using the latest insulation technology to its advantage. The iconic shoe maintains its form and it maintains the original all-white leather upper. However, the silhouette integrates a contrasting green Trefoil logo heel tab, which adds to the overall design.

Maintaining the spring in your step, is the classic white rubber cupsole and the perforated 3-stripe along with the signature Stan Smith tongue branding, complete the design cues of this model. To mark the Gore-Tex collaboration, we find the brands woven label and embossed Gore-Tex Infinium logo on the heel underpin. The shoe will hit the shelves on October 5th, and will retail for $120.
