Chopard L.U.C XPS Azur Watch has a Mediterranean look

Presenting a stark change from last year’s deep and vibrant red watch, this year’s Red Carpet Edition by Chopard is an astonishingly light blue – azure colored dial – timepiece that looks elegant. Chopard has partnered with many events, sports and legends over the years, but perhaps the Cannes Film Festival, is one of the most compelling ones which they have been partners of, since 1998.

The Chopard L.U.C XPS Azur Watch is well defined in terms of its looks and design, however it does have some substance to it. The watch is made from ethically sourced (Fairmined) 18k white gold and the dial sports diamond markers. The overall vibe of the watch is very Mediterranean, and elegant – very befitting the Red Carpet.

This exclusive watch is limited to only 10 pieces, and fulfills the codes of a dress watch. Intended to compliment the Chopard jewelry that the female companion of the Chopard man wears, the L.U.C XPS Azure is a top-of-the-line L.U.C XPS 1860 model with its thin profile and double certification (COSC and Geneva Seal).

The 40mm case is only 7.2mm thick and supports the blue hand-guilloché dial, which has several textures to it. The center of the dial is of course the guilloché radiating wave motif, which originates around the L.U.C logo at 12 o’clock. The recessed small seconds counter is placed at the 6 o’clock position, and here we notice a concentric pattern here.

The sunburst chapter hour ring boasts of a satin-brushed finish and teams well with the baguette-cut diamonds hour markers and Dauphine hands for the hours and minutes. Of course the hands don’t host any luminescence, and the minutes track, the three markers on the small seconds counter are finished in a golden sandy color. This applies to the brand name and model as well.

Inside the watch you will find the in-house made L.U.C 96.01-L movement and it also showcases Chopard’s proprietary Twin Technology. The power reserve for this watch is of 65 hours along with 30 meters of water resistance. You can admire the movement through the sapphire glass caseback. Pick it up for $38,000.
