For the very first time, H. Moser & Cie have crafted a perpetual calendar with two windows that showcase the date and month. The Pioneer collection made its debut in 2015 and gained popularity for its contemporary style. This is quite evident in the color choices that the watchmakers have assigned for these two new timepieces in the collection.
The Dual Window Display are featured at the three o’clock spot and the reason behind such distinction is to offer optimal legibility. Considered to be the sportiest line in its collections, the Pioneer is a collection that has earned its respect for being a practical watch.
Devil in the Details
This new perpetual calendar sports two large windows, showcasing the date and month and also two discs featuring the Flash Calendar function. The calendar changes promptly when necessary and the date can be set at any time of the day. You can tune it forwards or backwards without posing a risk to the movement.
Housed in a stainless steel case that measures 42.8mm x 11.3mm, we have the new Swiss hand-wind Moser in-house caliber HMC 808. This movement comes with 32 jewels, 18,000 VPH and provides a week-worth of power reserve.
The curved sapphire crystal, and sapphire display back ensure that watch remains water resistant to 120 meters. The screw-in crown comes with an “M” embossed on it. The functions on the watch include hours and minutes, small seconds, perpetual calendar with date and month.
The big date display, month indicator window and power reserve indicator are spaced out well on the dial, and don’t encroach on each other’s space. The leap year cycle indicator is on the movement side. The fact that the dials are in distinct solid colors, it is important keep legibility high and not let the colors absorb the light.
The watch’s dial options are Burgundy fumé or Funky Blue fumé with applique
indices and sunburst pattern. To keep things visible, there is SuperLuminova
hour marker dots and the beautifully leaf-shaped hands are partially skeletonized
with SuperLuminova.
Teamed with a black alligator leather strap or a black rubber
strap with a steel pin buckle, both the dials complement these options.
