Jaguar partners with photographer Max Montgomery and actress Alexandra Daddario for limited XJ Collection

Jaguar has unveiled the XJ Collection Special Edition by partnering with renowned photographer Max Montgomery and actress Alexandra Daddario. The XJ Collection features the final 300 units of the current-generation XJ luxury sedan, which are exclusively available to U.S. customers only.

“The Jaguar XJ has always represented the pinnacle of Jaguar’s model line-up,” said Julian Thomson, Jaguar Design Director. “With its skillful blend of beautiful design, engaging performance and revered luxury, it has always proved a class apart, rewarding its driver just as much as it cossets and comforts the passenger. The limited-edition XJ Collection is the ultimate expression of refinement and timeless luxury.”

The current Jag XJ is bowing out for an all-electric XJ model

The Jaguar XJ is known throughout history for its iconic design, exhilarating performance, and posh interior. Capturing the essence of the limited-edition XJ Collection are the sharp eyes of famed photographer Max Montgomery and “True Detective” actress Alexandra Daddario.

“What better way to honor the timeless and elegant XJ Collection Special Edition than through the lens of Max Montgomery,” said Kim McCullough, Vice President, Marketing, Jaguar Land Rover North America. “Combining those two elements with Alexandra Daddario’s style truly captures the essence of this model.”

This is all well and good. But according to industry sources, the current XJ is bowing out to make way for an all-new and all-electric XJ model. After the final 300 units of the XJ Collection are produced, Jaguar is retooling the Castle Bromwich plant for the production of Jaguar’s next-generation XJ electric arriving in 2020.

All 300 units of XJ Collection are long-wheelbase models with RWD

Based on the Jaguar XJL Supercharged, all 300 units of the limited-run XJ Collection are long-wheelbase models with rear-wheel-drive. Fortunately, it also receives the same 5.0-liter supercharged V8 producing 470-horsepower.

According to Jaguar’s press release, all 300 examples in the XJ Collection are one of the most exclusive versions of the XJ since 1968.

Each model receives commemorative badging

Befitting of an exclusive model, the XJ Collection is boasting a couple of upscale elements on both the outside and inside of the vehicle. The car receives a set of gorgeous 20-inch alloy wheels in a satin gray finish lifted from the XJ Supercharged short-wheelbase model. You’ll also find a ‘Collection’ badge on the decklid along with an ‘XJ Collection’ intaglio on the dashboard and metal treadplates.

The XJ Collection is offered in a limited choice of paint finishes including Yulong White or Santorini Black paired with ebony/ebony or mineral/ivory interiors. Of course, no Jaguar XJ is complete without the traditional British Racing Green paint job paired with an Ebony and Tan interior.

Jaguar XJ Collection standard features and pricing

The 2019 Jaguar XJ Collection is fitted with 20-inch wheels wrapped in all-season tires, an 8-speed automatic transmission, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, adaptive cruise control, 360-degree camera and parking aid, and the InControl Touch Pro infotainment system with Meridian audio.

Prices for the Jaguar XJ Collection starts at $85,000 and is now available to order at your favorite Jaguar dealership. Considering the regular XJ Supercharged starts at around $97,000 the XJ Collection is – for lack of better words – good value.
