Patek Philippe World Time Chronograph with dedicated Singapore time zone

When Patek Philippe did their exclusive exhibition in New York two years ago, we saw some great enameling work, woodwork, museum pieces, and bunch of new watches being showcased. It’s only natural for us to expect a similar kind of output this time around, at the Singapore Grand Exhibition.

We have seen the Patek Philippe Aquanaut and Minute Repeater Tourbillon Singapore Edition showcasing hints of Red to commemorate the Singapore Flag. However, the Ladies’ Pilot Calatrava Travel Time stood out for being a steel-case watch and ditching the Red. With the Patek Philippe World Time Chronograph that we are discussing now, it’s back to hints of Red and Singapore time zone dedication.

World Time with Singapore

Patek Philippe is known to showcase a rich collection of pocket watches, rare hand-crafted wrist watches, dome table clocks and watches that are decorated with exemplary artisanal techniques. The Patek Philippe World Time Chronograph Ref. 5930G showcases the cultural and artistic heritage of Singapore and its neighborhood.

The faded red guilloché dial is classy and catches your attention immediately. Designed specifically for the Singapore market, the timepiece has a slight change in its time zones, instead of showcasing Beijing time, the watch makers have replaced it with a dedicated Singapore time zone. This is interesting, as there is no time difference between the island country and Chinese capital. Hence it doesn’t impact the function of the watch.

Celebrating the Details

The World Time Chronograph – 5930G is an update to the 2016 Ref. 5930 that was announced at Baselworld. At that time, the original watch had made ripples thanks to being the thinnest and smallest world time chronograph movement. The Ref. 5930 housed the caliber 28-250 HU, which was only 30mm in diameter and it fit into a 39.5mm case. The Ref. 5930G works with the same movement and measures the same.

Moving away from the original white gold with a blue dial, the Singapore Limited Edition 5930G has tones of red and will be available in Singapore and Southeast Asia. The Singapore World Time Chronograph sports a white gold case that measures 39.5mm and is teamed with an alligator strap with red stitching. The watches are limited to only 300 units.
